iTunes 12.9.4.61 disables upgrade/downgrade from local IPSW files
The latest beta of iTunes disables upgrades and downgrades from local IPSW files. Here’s what this means for the jailbreak community and how you can bypass this limitation.

ITUNES’ LATEST BETA DISABLES LOCAL UPGRADE/DOWNGRADE
Reddit user “IAMATyrannosaurusAMA” was the first to discover this “feature”.
iTunes 12.9.4.61, the latest beta update, has disabled the ability to use option/shift + update and restore using an IPSW file stored on locally your computer.
We tried to reproduce this “bug” on a MacBook and the results were not surprising at all. Local restores didn’t seem to work and iTunes threw a network error when used with an iPhone 7.
Apple might have disabled local restores to make things harder for jailbreakers or to ensure every user stays on the latest version of iOS.
Moreover, this feature being removed will also affect non-jailbreakers who want to download and use local IPSW firmware files.
It’s a shame that Apple is slowly and gradually removing important features from iTunes.
Back in the day, iTunes was a hub to manage your device and, unfortunately, has now been relegated to bloatware that practically offers zero value to the end user.
HOW TO UPGRADE/DOWNGRADE TO LOCAL FIRMWARE VERSIONS
DOWNGRADE ITUNES TO 12.8.2
This feature is missing only from the latest beta update. Older versions, on the other hand, still allow users to update or downgrade their devices using local firmware files.
According to our tests, iTunes version 12.8.2 is working just fine. Here’s the official download link for v12.8.2. This version, though useful, has one major limitation – it doesn’t work on macOS Mojave.
If you are a Mojave user, you must downgrade to version 12.9.2.5 to reinstate the restore feature.Sponsor ads:

Chinese Security Researcher Shows off an iOS 12.1.2 Exploit Raising Hopes of an iOS 12 Jailbreak
Min Zheng, a security engineer at Alibaba, has shown off an iOS 12.1.2 exploit over on Twitter. As proof, he has posted some command line screenshots of root access on iOS 12.1.2 on an iPhone 6s.
It is unlikely that we will see Zheng release the exploit to the public for the development of a possible iOS 12 jailbreak tool. He will probably end up talking about this exploit in a security conference down the line but that’s about it.
We have seen in the past that many Chinese security researchers manage to find an exploit in iOS 11 – iOS 12 but they never got around to releasing it to the public and a similar story will play out here as well.

It does seem unlikely that we will see an iOS 12 jailbreak tool being released anytime soon. Tihmstar has teased the release of “something cool” but that’s for iPhones running iOS 11 and featuring a headphone jack.
Most security researchers end up keeping the exploit they find in a new version of iOS with themselves or sell it to private companies for a hefty amount. A security researcher has found a powerful sandbox escape in iOS 12 that is powerful enough to launch Pangu’s IOHID exploit which in turn can lead to an iOS 12 jailbreak.
Are you still waiting for an iOS 12 jailbreak? Or have you given up on jailbreaking completely?

NoYTHoverCards–How to Disable YouTube overlay at the end of videos
YOUTUBE HOVER CARDS EXPLAINED
In May 2017, YouTube scrapped annotations and replaced them with “hover cards”, a slick thumbnail overlay that creators can add to their videos.
Generally, these overlays are used to add recommended videos that users can watch instantly. They are highly intrusive and can block almost 80% of the video.
YouTubers tend to add hover cards towards the end of their videos. However, that doesn’t make them any less intrusive.
Here’s how the hover cards look like in action in an EverythingApplePro video.
You can’t disable these using AdBlock unless you explicitly add them to its element hider. Since we are jailbreakers, we aren’t bound by the same restrictions as our non-jailbroken counterparts.
NoYTHoverCards for YouTube tweak by tweak developer level3tjg easily lets you block hover cards in an instant. Here’s how you can install this tweak on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

2019 How to Fix if iPad Not Getting Mail on iOS 12/11
Tip 1: Check Internet Connection
You need to start by checking the simple things, like checking the Internet connection. It is evident that you have lost the Internet connection or the router is acting up or the Airplane Mode is turned on, it will interfere with your Internet activities.
It is very common if the Airplane Mode is ON then you need to turn it OFF. If it’s a router issue then restart the device or just connect to Wi-Fi again, you will start receiving email on your iPad in no time.
Tip 2: Force Quit Mail App and Launch Again
Sometimes, the simple solutions are the best! If you are saying “you cannot get mail on my iPad” then simply quit the Mail App and launch it again a bit later.
It is a simple but effective fix if it a minor issue then it will get fixed immediately. You don't have to go through any trouble, at all. Just double clicking the Home button and the multitasking screen will appear. Slide your finger to the top and the app will end task.
Tip 3: Delete Mail Account and Add Again
This is one of the biggest steps you can take if you are not receiving emails on iPad. You have to delete your email account and then add it again later. It is very simple, just follow the steps below;
Step 1: Open your iPad and go to Settings.
Step 2: You need to scroll down the menu and look for “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” or “Password & Accounts”.
Step 3: Now, just tap on the email account you wish to delete. You have to confirm the command.
Step 4: Then, tap on “Delete on My iPad” and the account will be deleted.
Step 5: Now, tap on “Add Account” and select which account to add.
Step 6: Sign in using your email ID and password.
Now, you can check the inbox again and you will find the new emails there.
Tip 4: Manually Configure Mail Settings
You can also manually configure your email account if you are not getting emails on iPad. Apple actually provides a lot of different settings options and you can select the proper settings for your email account. It is very simple:
Step 1: Open your iPad and go to Settings. Tap on “Accounts & Passwords”
Step 2: Then, you need to tap on the email account you need to configure.
Step 3: Tap on the email address and then tap on “SMTP” to switch to the server.
Step 4: Now, tap on a new “SMTP” server. If you are using Gmail then it will say “smtp.example.com”.
Step 5: Provide the password for your account and toggle the switch beside the server to turn it “ON”.
Step 6: Now, tap “Done”.
Step 7: Then, tap “Account” followed by “Advanced” and set a brand new path for IMAP Path Prefix or Server Port if needed.
Possibly changing such delicate settings you will be able to fix the issue on your iPad.
Tip 5: Reboot Your iPad
Even after implementing all the fixes if you still cannot get email on iPad then just reboot the iPad. A simple reboot is known to have fixed a lot of minor issues. Although this is not a minor issue still you would be better off trying it once;
Step 1: Press and hold the Power button and the Home button until the Slider appears on the screen.
Step 2: Swipe it and turn off the device.
Step 3: Wait a while and turn it on again with the Power button.
Well, if it got fixed then it will be a win for you but try not to hope too much. If it is still giving you difficulties then you have the next option to fix the issue permanently.
