iPhone Users Unable to Download or Update Apps from App Store; Stuck at T&C Prompt

Unable to download apps from the App Store since morning? You are not alone. A number of iPhone and iPad owners have taken to Twitter to complain that they have been unable to download apps on their devices since morning.

When users try to download an app, they get a pop-up informing them that Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions have changed. When they tap on OK and proceed to accept the changes, they end up going back to the App Store listing again where they again get the same pop-up. The issue is present for both downloading new apps as well as updating the existing ones already installed.

Dear #Apple.... I’m getting this weird popup in the App Store repeatedly. And even after agreeing to all terms and conditions, it doesn’t let me download apps... It’s happening on many iOS devices (My friends) as well...Plz fix this annoying issue...!!!

Frustrated iPhone and iPad users have taken to Twitter to express their frustration about the inability to download apps from the App Store.

The issue does not seem to be affecting iPhone and iPad owners across the world though as I was able to download apps and games on my iPhone without any issues. Apple Removes Short Video App TikTok from Indian App Store Following Ban

Following a court order, Apple and Google have pulled the viral TikTok video app from the App Store and Google Play. The app had come under criticism from Indian regulators for some of the objectionable content it served to users.

The app was first banned by the Madras High Court and the order was upheld by the Supreme Court. The ban and the removal of the apps come as a major blow to TikTok which has registered phenomenal growth in India over the last few months. In the last quarter alone, TikTok added around 88.6 million users from India, with a worldwide tally of 188 million.

“As per the proceedings in the Supreme Court today, the Madras High Court will hear the matter on ex parte ad interim oder. The Supreme Court has listed the matter again for April 22, 2019, to be apprised of the outcome of the hearing on the April 16th, 2019 before the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court…In line with this, we have been stepping up efforts to take down objectionable content. To date, we have removed over 6 million videos that violated our terms of use and community guidelines, following an exhaustive review of content generated by our users in India,” the company said.

Following criticism from various Indian regulators, ByteDance stepped up its effort to remove objectional content from TikTok. However, the efforts seem to have come a bit late as the Supreme Court has still upheld the ban on the app which led to its removal from the App Store and Google Play. The next hearing on TikTok’s ban is scheduled on April 22.

Huawei P30 Pro’s Camera Beats iPhone XS in Low-Light Performance But there’s a Twist

Late last month, Huawei unveiled its flagship smartphone for the first half of 2019 — the P30 Pro. The phone comes with a new 40MP SuperSpectrum sensor with RYYB sub-pixel layout for improved low-light imaging performance. This new sensor is coupled with OIS and a wider f/1.6 aperture. A combination of these improvements makes the P30 Pro an absolutely low-light camera beast, with its performance being notably ahead of the iPhone XS.

The Google Pixel 3 was handily beating the iPhone XS in low-light imaging performance with its Night Sight mode. The Huawei P30 Pro, however, is in a different league altogether. Its camera can literally see in the dark and it makes the iPhone XS low-light photos look downright embarrassing.

What’s even more impressive is that the Huawei P30 Pro quad-camera setup offers a level of versatility that’s unmatched by the iPhone XS. The 20MP ultra-wide angle shooter let’s one capture scenes with a whole new perspective, while the 5x optical and 10x hybrid zoom on the P30 Pro let’s one capture photos that were simply not possible before from a smartphone.

This does not mean the Huawei P30 Pro’s camera is perfect. The video recording capabilities of the phone are not as good as the iPhone XS and the camera’s dynamic range is not up to the mark as well. The iPhone XS also manages to capture realistic photos, while the P30 Pro’s color reproduction is completely off the mark. The iPhone XS also manages to take better Portrait photos than the P30 Pro. Even the front 32MP camera of the Huawei P30 Pro leaves a lot to be desired, with relatively poor dynamic range and color reproduction.

Interestingly, as the comparison video above shows, the ultra-wide angle shooter on the P30 Pro is not as wide as the Galaxy S10 which is able to capture more details.

Overall, it looks like the P30 Pro manages to set a new benchmark for low-light smartphone imaging but it comes with its own set of compromises. The dynamic range of the camera is simply not as good as the iPhone XS or the Galaxy S10 and its color reproduction leaves a lot to be desired.
